The CGGVeritas Group is the world’s leading international geophysical company delivering a wide range of technologies, services and equipment throughout the global oil and gas industry.

CGGVeritas, on behalf of its regional subsidiaries, is now recruiting for two major long-term Ocean Bottom Cable (OBC) seismic crews in the Middle East. These fully offshore operations, located in the Saudi waters of the Gulf and managed through a fleet of vessels, will operate the latest Sercel SeaRay® 4C equipment and CGGVeritas deployment and positioning systems.

Junior/Senior Observers

Job Objectives With a key role on the seismic crew, you will be responsible for recording the seismic data in accordance with contract specifications.

Main activities
- Assess personnel and equipment resources needed to satisfy contract specifications,
- Check the quality of seismic records in close co-operation with the seismologist and the client,
- Manage electronic equipment and maintenance,
- Set up the technical organization of your team.

Job Requirements
- BSc Degree or equivalent
- Excellent electronic skills
- Seismic experience in Shallow Water/OBC crews or any offshore experience would be appreciated. Knowledge of Sercel recording systems would be an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills with proven leadership capabilities. Ability to work abroad in an international environment and sometimes in challenging field conditions. Ability to work as a team player with a spirit of initiative.
