The CGGVeritas Group is the world’s leading international geophysical company delivering a wide range of technologies, services and equipment throughout the global oil and gas industry. CGGVeritas, on behalf of its regional subsidiaries, is now recruiting for two major long-term Ocean Bottom Cable (OBC) seismic crews in the Middle East. These fully offshore operations, located in the Saudi waters of the Gulf and managed through a fleet of vessels, will operate the latest Sercel SeaRay® 4C equipment and CGGVeritas deployment and positioning systems

HSE ADVISORS

Job Objectives Advise and assist the party chief in planning and managing the HSE aspects of the survey (HSE MS). Help with the implementation and verification of CGGVeritas HSE standards and procedures and adherence to these procedures through training, technical assistance and monitoring.

Main activities
- Support the survey’s local HSE and medical personnel
- Monitor results and ensure adherence to the procedures and objectives
- Provide technical support to your team and ensure that they are kept up to date
- Identify and assess the dangers to which survey staff are exposed
- Participate in planning means of prevention and monitoring dangers
- Draw up the survey’s emergency plan
- Monitor the availability of resources defined in the HSE plan to prevent and monitor dangers and to ensure recovery following an accident
- Organize regular inspections of survey operations and installations to check that the established standards and procedures are being adhered to and ensure that poor practice is rectified
- Organize and record HSE training for survey personnel
- Ensure that training received is followed up and organize refresher courses
- Prepare the various inspection/accident reports
- Ensure that vehicle monitoring tools are functioning correctly and that the fleet is properly managed.

Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as an HSE Advisor (or NEBOSH). Seismic offshore experience is an advantage. A strong commitment to HSE is essential.
- Strong management skills. Proven ability and commitment to high quality and efficiency
- Excellent communication skills with proven training and leadership capabilities
- Field and multicultural experience
- Computer literate
- Excellent level of English
